Over the years, basketball has been a consistent way of celebration and connection for our family. All of the Cannon kids grew up in a gym. We loved playing the sport, going to each other’s games and watching our dad coach. Many of our meals came from the concession stand, our weekends were spent in and out of hotels for AAU, and team parties always took place at the Cannons. While only a few of us earned the title of Diocesan Champ, most of us rocked the number 23, including our son, brother, nephew, cousin and grandson, Gavin James.

Gavin was the teammate who never passed up an opportunity to make an assist over taking the shot. The teammate who would pick you up after making a mistake. He was a leader who cared about others.​

The GJC Classic is a special opportunity to honor Gavin’s legacy in support of the Gavin James Cannon Foundation.
